Self-esteem is simply how much you like being you. It’s having a sense of self-worth, a feeling of being happy with yourself. Some of us don’t have much of it, others have it sometimes and others still positively exude it!

My guess is that you yourself or someone you love have struggled with self-esteem. If you’ve suffered anxiety, depression or weight gain, been swamped by feelings of anger, resentment, shame, or even self-hatred, you’re likely to have struggled with low self-esteem too. I see that same underlying sense of unworthiness, that feeling of just not being enough in nearly every client that knocks on my door. It renders them unable to think clearly or make important decisions in their life. It can cause them to hurt those they love and more especially, to hurt themselves.

I know there was a time in my life when I felt so small, so wrong, and so dirty deep inside that I convinced myself I had been dealt a joker card. I played over and over in my mind this awful “realisation” that there was “something” completely wrong with me. A sneaky slippery defect that defied definition and therefore cure and showed up in various guises all my life. It meant that sooner or later I’d be left staring in the face of THAT me again, the me I didn’t want to be.

That was then, and one of the most important things I learned on my journey from then to now, was how to nurture my own sense of self-worth and that is what I’d like to share with you.
